We need less Federal control over our lives and put the government back in the hands of the people at the local levels. If the "people" allow this to go through, it won't be long afterward when some "genius" government official deems it necessary to TAG all of us, for our own well being of course. This is ridiculous and disgusting. However, he has some very valid and important points in this video about boycotting the Super Bowl. All to often we lose sight of what matters because what matters seems too complicated and time consuming to get involved with. Understanding government and being involved in the community does take effort. It takes commitment. It takes time. It takes education. Watching TV takes little commitment, and no education but it does take a lot of time. Following the statistics of your favorite sports teams and athletes takes some education; you have to read and memorize what you wish to know. As time passes, and Americans become hypnotized by television programming, there are powerful people dismantling the United States of America. While people are educating themselves about pass and rushing yards, sacks, interceptions, touchdowns, wins and losses or other sports trivia, others are planning and executing a new form of government. And they try to sneak it in, in the middle of the night on weekends (sound familiar?). Fortunately, like our military there are individuals at the local, state and national government levels that sacrifice their time to protect the Freedom we have. They stay informed and share what they have learned with the rest of us. We shouldn't let these sacrifices go to waste. We need to stand up for what is right. We need to be proactive. It may not be easy, but just think about what sacrifices the Founding Fathers made?

While I won't be boycotting the Super Bowl, I will also be sure to spend time educating my children on how the government is supposed to work. I will spend time educating my children on what Freedom is. And I will teach them about the sacrifices that have already been made. I will keep myself informed and will act accordingly. What will you do? </object Posted via email from Charlie Profit Report </itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>Charlie,Profit,Success,Prosperity,Life,Goals,Goal,Setting,Wealth,Politics,Economics,Health,Religion</itunes:keywords>

Obama Has No Choice But to be Pro-Small Business

Well, actually he does have a choice but not if he wants his approval rating to go up. And the ONLY reason he is finally doing SOMETHING for the Americans that pay his salary is because the Democrats no longer have control. He should have never given ANY money to Wall Street and should have put ALL the TARP money into small businesses to begin with. Because you see, instead of creating millions of jobs, he rewarded a few CEO's with fat bonuses (and I don't believe for a second he didn't know they would turn the TARP into bonuses) and he maybe saved a few thousand jobs. But since more Americans have lost their jobs since, or the fact that people are not spending because of this economy, within six months those few thousand, will probably lose their jobs after all. Anyway, here's where Obama is "hoping" to win points with the Independents he pissed off: http://bit.ly/az37Hm
Posted via web from Charlie Profit Report

Are you listening?

Today I had to run to catch the bus on the way home. Not because I was late, but because the connection didn't synchronize exactly. So I ran to try catch a bus at a stop about 1/4 of a mile away that would get me home without having to wait another 20-30 minutes for a connection where I was. The thing is, I still couldn't make it to that bus stop in time despite my swift strides in the freezing cold. But the bus driver noticed me running and when he saw me throw my arms down in defeat, as I acknowledged I lost the race to beat the bus to the stop, he pulled over for me. There's no doubt in my mind that God whispered to him to pull over for me.

While it is not unusual for a bus driver to be so courteous, I have seen drivers ignore would-be stranded passengers. Although they would be only stranded till the next bus comes along, sometimes that wait can be as long as an hour. In the freezing cold, that is not fun. So, I'd like to think he was listening to God, whether knowingly or not, he was tuned in and heard God's message. And I thank God for nudging him.

How often do we hear that intimate voice of the Holy Spirit, of Christ, and ignore him. I'm guilty. Sometimes I feel like I just don't have time to listen to the instruction given, not realizing that what little inconvenience I may have by acting on it may actually be a tremendous help to whomever God is asking me to help. Other times I think to myself, "What can my actions possibly do to make a difference here?" Of course we never see the big picture. We don't see the ripple effect of our actions. We only see the here and now. Occasionally God will have someone circle back into our lives to let us know the impact we made. And those time are usually very humbling, because we couldn't see the big picture at that time.

Anyway, because the bus driver stopped for me, he got me home a little earlier than I would have arrived otherwise which has given me even only a few extra minutes with my family. But I am thankful for those few extra minutes because time is quite a valuable commodity these days.

Will you listen next time and possibly help someone else with a need they may have, no matter the inconvenience to you and no matter how trivial the message may sound - like letting someone get in front of you in rush hour traffic? It could give someone else a few extra minutes with their family.

Posted via email from Charlie Profit Report

It's amazing that a wholesome message would be considered controversial, but commercials with less wholesome messages gather little to no publicity. Or when Christians oppose a message, we are adamantly (and rightfully) reminded of "Free Speech". Part of the reason Christ suffered and died on the cross was so we, God's children, would not have to suffer. So, purposely flogging oneself in order to suffer and feel Christ's pain is akin to telling God you don't care that Christ already suffered, nor that you appreciate it. It's like insisting to pay for a dinner when a friend invited you out and told you to leave your money at home. Don't you think that it's insulting? My understanding is the best way to show God you understand and accept Christ is to ask Him for forgiveness, welcome Christ into your heart and life and then live a life following Him daily, living like Him...not trying to suffer die like Him. Maybe I just don't understand the whole purpose. Here's more on Pope John Paul's self-mortification: http://bit.ly/aJb9r4
Posted via web from Charlie Profit Report

It should show the world we are not an evil people, but loving and caring.
However, I have to ask, if only for the sake of shaking things up (no pun intended): why don’t you match the money you are sending to Haiti and give the same amount to a local church or organization to help the homeless or less fortunate in your own town? Christmas has come and gone. Those less fortunate in our own communities are already forgotten; those children have also forgotten Christmas for the moment. But they are the people here at home that still need our help. We rush to aid foreign Countries and forget about the people that could be our own neighbors: people that lost their jobs, people who are losing their homes, people with children to take of, or children without parents to care for them. Where is the compassion for them?
Yes, there is devastation beyond comprehension in Haiti and I am not suggesting that we do not help those victims. And I do understand that losing your home is trivial compared to losing your whole life. But I am suggesting you step it up a notch and help out your neighbors too. If you can afford to send $10 to Haiti, I’m certain you can find another $10 that help a neighbor, someone in your own community that also is in need. What, if anything, are you doing to help those in your cities that are allowed to become invisible?
Posted via email from Charlie Profit Report

Monday night I went to bed early, and didn't do my usual Social Media follow up and posting. When I was checking my email Tuesday morning I was was blown away to read that Seesmic.com bought Ping.Fm, and the news was released Monday! The one day I take a reprieve from "staying in the know" and I miss some big news. I'm pretty excited that two of the best social media apps are now, for all intents and purposes, one. It's no secret I am an early adopter to most technology, especially Internet/Social Media based. I know it drives some people crazy (including my wife) but I love technology! And have even made a lateral move in my own career into IT Solutions. So for me to miss something like this is unusual. I don't mean to give the impression I am in the know about everything going on in Social Media, but I usually am "tuned in" (if I may borrow a phrase from my radio career). To get the best reports on this development Ping's (http://bit.ly/81nCEG) and Seesmic's blogs (http://bit.ly/7XWXod) are probably the way to go, but I found this neat article from thenextweb.com and thought I'd share it with you. I've highlighted the part I really enjoyed. Read more from the original article by clicking the "Read More" link...Here's my excerpt: http://bit.ly/5atTpy
Posted via web from Charlie Profit Report

I had the pleasure of interviewing him in 2004 on my radio show in Connecticut. Our prayers go out to him and his family.
via Ping.fm

Posted via web from Charlie Profit Report

It makes me wonder if this kind of thing happens often. Sure, they are people too but security is a serious issue and we can't accept even the slightest of mistakes caused by a distraction like a pet. Darlene goes on to explain that bomb sniffing dogs are a cheaper and better solution than the invasive machines that are being installed in airports across the Country. What would you prefer, given the choice: a dogs nose in your crotch or someone standing behind a machine that sees through your clothes? Read what Darlene has to say about it here: http://bit.ly/7k9M8H
Posted via web from Charlie Profit Report

So...what will they do? Quit! Because either way, they know they'll lose in November. Now we see a multitude of Democrats retiring and one has even switched parties because he has a conscience! Especially now that there are Democrats switching sides, and there are special elections coming up that could tip the balance enough to prevent this bill from being law. Now is not the time to feel defeated. Now is not the time to give up. If you don't want socialism or communism you need to let your representatives know that you oppose this bill and will vote accordingly in November. Let them know everyday. Don't misunderstand...healthcare reform is necessary, but this bill is NOT the reform needed. http://bit.ly/5OVpSB
Posted via web from Charlie Profit Report
